February 21, 2019
As part of our school-wide initiative to promote mental health and well-being, an introductory Mental Health Awareness session was held for Grade 1 students on Tuesday the 19th of February, 2019. More upcoming sessions will be held for Grades 2 and 3, on the 25th and 26th of February, 2019.
The purpose of the sessions is to help students:
- develop a basic understanding of mental health and mental health problems
- understand the difference between everyday feelings and overwhelming feelings
- brainstorm ways to manage their own mental health
- know-how, and who to ask for help and support at school and outside of school
The sessions are given by Miss Rita Maroun, a Child and Adolescent Psychologist.
We believe that helping our children develop ways to look after their mental health, can help them cope with daily life stresses, thrive in their development, and be aware of their potential.
Looking forward to working with you in this endeavor during the rest of the academic year.
