Mgr. Boulos Matar's visit to SHS
To mark the 25th anniversary of Sagesse High School, Mgr. Boulos Matar opened the ‘Year of the Jubilee’ by a graceful visit paid on the 25th of May, 2017. The visit started at the Preschool Division, where he was hailed by the KGII students who sang Fairuz’s ahla w sahla nawartou l dar. Then he unveiled St. Paul Monument and the plaque commemorating the building of the Preschool Division. Shortly after, Mgr. Matar headed towards the Mgr. Matar’s Square, where he was greeted by the Intermediate and Secondary students. After the National Anthem, Father Tabet welcomed the honored guest, and then the bishop responded in a short speech thanking the rector and the students for their hospitality. Then Bishop Matar headed towards the Jubilee Garden, where the Upper Elementary Division students sang Zaki Nassif’s ya hikmitna. Lower Elementary students greeted him happily in the main entrance. Afterwards, His Excellency met with the faculty members and the Parents Association. Intermediate and secondary students met with His Excellency in Block B auditorium where they conversed with him and presented a painting done by Lea Haddidian. The time capsule was buried in the presence of the Alumni committee and will be opened after 25 years. A meeting was held with the common board members where Mrs. Jibaii and Mr. Takla presented the school academic achievements. The day ended with the Bishop’s blessings.
