Dear Students of Class 2019,

This is to inform that the graduation ceremony will take place at Sagesse High School on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. 

Kindly take note of the following:

1.   The 1st graduation rehearsal will take place on, Monday, May 27, 2019 in the Block A parking area from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

2.   The 2nd graduation rehearsal will take place on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 in the Block A parking area from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

During the rehearsals:

  • All seniors must be present and are asked to be punctual and arrive on time.
  • All seniors must bring hats and wear comfortable shoes.
  • Girls are kindly asked to bring the high heel shoes, which they will be wearing during the official ceremony, so they can practice walking on the stage.

On graduation day, Wednesday, May 29, 2019, graduating students are requested to be at school at 5:00 p.m. with their caps and gowns and in formal attire:
Gentlemen: suit, white formal shirt, tie and formal shoes.
Ladies: formal dress/skirt and shirt and comfortable formal shoes. 
It is worth noting that flashy colored shoes, Birkenstocks, Converse and tennis shoes are not allowed.

Dear Parents of IBDP II Students,

This is to inform you that the individual cap and gown picture, class cap and gown picture and SHS uniform class picture for the IBDP II students have been scheduled for Friday, May 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. sharp. 

Kindly make sure that you abide by the following:

-  All students must wear their full SHS official school uniform (underneath the cap and gown):

      Gentlemen: blazer, tie, blue shirt, grey trousers, pullover and black shoes.

      Ladies: blazer, tie, blue shirt, grey skirt, black colour stockings, pullover and black shoes.

-  Tennis shoes are not allowed.

-  All gentlemen must shave their beards otherwise they will not be photographed.

-  Students must pick up their cap and gowns from the SHS supply store, if they have not already done so, by Friday, May 24, 2019 noon. 

-  Students must pay a $50 deposit at the supply store in order to get the cap and gown. The deposit will be refunded whenever the student returns the cap and gown, in good condition, after the graduation ceremony.

Students who do not abide by the dress code will not be photographed and their pictures will not appear in the yearbook. 

Students who are absent on the specified day will not appear in the class picture.

Dear Parents of IBDP I, Grade 11 and Grade 10 A.P. Students,

The SHS Parents Association is organizing a Festival (Kermes) for the SHS students on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, 2019. 
Kindly take note of the following:
- Regular classes will be held from 7:45 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019. - Friday May 17, 2019 is color day. Students can wear their favorite basketball or football team sports clothes. Students are also asked to bring a hat/cap with them. 
- Students are also advised to bring with them a change of clothes as they might need to change into dry clothes if they participate in the soap soccer activity or other activity that involves water.
-There will be food, snacks and drinks sold in the different food trucks (refer to the Festival Flyer on the website for details) so students who wish to buy food are expected to bring enough money to do so.
- Parents are kindly asked to accompany their children to the Festival as of 3:00 p.m. since SHS staff will not be on duty after 3:00 p.m.
- Parents are kindly asked to accompany their children to the Festival on Saturday, May 18, 2019 since SHS staff will not be on duty on that day.

Dear Parents of Grade 10 A.P. Students,

Kindly note that the grade 10 A.P. and Sec 1 L.P. students will participate in the annual gathering of the Catholic Anglophone Schools which will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Antonine International School-Ajaltoun. 

During this event, students will attend different workshops related to the theme “Diversity”

Students must abide by the school dress code (The official uniform: school shirt, tie, grey trousers (gentlemen), grey skirt and black stockings (ladies), school blazer, and black shoes). Gentlemen must be well shaved and ladies must wear their hair properly. Students are advised to get their caps with them.

SHS will provide transportation on that day and students will be accompanied by teachers and supervisors. 

It is worth noting that the assigned day is a regular school day and attendance is mandatory. Absences are not allowed unless there is a severe medical case supported with a doctor’s written medical report.

N.B: Students are asked to leave their books and copybooks at home on that day.

Dear Parents of Grade 10 A.P. Students,   
This is to inform you that the grade 10 A.P. students will be sitting for the PSAT test on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 7:45 until 11:10 a.m. 
Kindly take note of the following:   
- The PSAT test is composed of 4 sections.   
- Students will be given a 5 minute break after the end of the first and the third sections, yet, they are to remain seated and quiet during that time.  
- Students are only allowed to go to the rest room in emergency cases and will be supervised during this time by the supervisor.  
- Parents are kindly asked to make sure that their son/daughter arrives to school on time for the test (not later than 7:40 a.m.).  
- Students will be given a break from 11:10 until 11:30 a.m. Regular classes will resume at 11:30 a.m.  

Parents are kindly asked to make sure that their son/daughter has a good breakfast in the morning before coming to school as students will not have a first break before 11:15 a.m.

Dear Parents of 12 A.P. Students,

This is to inform you that as part of the Savoir Vivre curricular activities the 12 A.P. students, will be having lunch at Kafaat, Mansourieh on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Participation in this activity is mandatory for all the 12th graders as they will be assessed by their teacher and the grades contribute to their final exam grades. The cost of the lunch is 20,000 L.L. per student.  Students will be accompanied by SHS staff members. 

Students must wear their school uniform: blue shirt, school jeans are permitted, and black shoes. 

Regular classes will be held during periods 1, 2, 3 and 7. 

Please sign the attached return slip and have your son/daughter submit it to the floor supervisor by Tuesday, April 2, 2019 with the required amount of money.

Dear Parents of grades 11 A.P., IB I, and Secondary 2 students,

The Lebanese American University – LAU is inviting grade 11 students to participate in the YOU@LAU, Career Exploration Day on Saturday March 30, 2019 at Beirut campus. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Students will be introduced to various careers related to their intended majors and will be helped in choosing their majors according to their interests. During the event, each student will have the option of attending 4 career-exploration presentations. Kindly put a check mark on the schedule, selecting only one session per time slot.

Students interested in participating in the Career Exploration Day are asked to complete the below section and return it along with the complete session selection to the floor supervisor by Friday, March 22, 2019.

Students are asked to be at school by 8:00 a.m. as buses will leave Sagesse High School from the main entrance parking at 8:15 a.m. and will return to school by 3:00 p.m. Transportation must be provided to return back home.

Dear Parents of Grade 10 A.P. Students, 

The DELE Diplomas contribute to the goal of accrediting the Spanish level of our students worldwide. The DELE Diplomas are the only officially recognized qualifications in Spanish as a Foreign Language, awarded by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain. 

Examinations for the Diplomas this year, will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at ¨Instituto Cervantes¨ of Beirut, Bechara El Khoury. 

The deadline to register at Cervantes, is on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Fees must be settled at the accounting office in Block A, no later than Friday, March 22, 2019.

DELE A1 escolar        149.000 LP 
DELE A2/B1 escolar   189.000 LP

In order to register, candidates must provide the following documents:

  • A Registration Form provided by the teacher, properly completed. 
  • Original and photocopy of an identification document with photograph showing the following details: identity, nationality, place and date of birth. The details presented by candidates on the registration form must be the same as those on the identification document.

Once registered, candidates will receive from the Instituto Cervantes a stamped copy of the registration form showing the code they have been given with the place, date and time of the examination. This document should be presented the day of the exam along with an Identification Document or passport. 

Students must copy the code number that will allow them to consult their results online later on. 

It is worth mentioning that transportation to the Instituto Cervantes, DT Beirut, will be provided by the school only for the written exam before noon. Parents are kindly asked to provide transportation in the afternoon for the oral test according to the time set by the Instituto Cervantes that is listed on the registration form.

CIRCULAR IB & A.P. No. 45 /AY 18-19

Dear Parents of Sec 1, Sec 2, 10 A.P., 11 A.P. and IBDPI Students,

Sagesse High School in collaboration with Sports Max is organizing a ski / snowboard trip to Kfardebian from Wednesday, March 27, 2019 until Friday, March 29, 2019.

Students will be staying at Hors Piste Hotel **** and will be accompanied by Mr. Elie Kmeid, Ms. Celine Waked, Mr. Nicholas Matta, (Sports Max Ski School), Dr. Georges Bachaalani (who will be called in case of medical emergencies) and SHS teachers or supervisors.  However, it is worth mentioning that the parents assume full responsibility for their son/ daughter and neither SHS nor Sports Max will be responsible for the unsafe or inappropriate conduct of the students throughout this trip. 

The cost of the ski/snowboard trip is $400 per person and includes full accommodation (2 nights in large rooms fitted with 3 to 4 students per room, 3 meals per day), two days skiing, ski equipment, ski pass, instruction (one instructor for every three to five students), activities, transportation and full insurance.

In addition to the ski suit, your child will need the following items: helmet, snow shoes, gloves, hat, sun glasses/ski goggles, sun protection cream for face and lips, long socks, extra change of clothes, pajamas, underclothes, toothbrush & toothpaste, etc. Organizers and SHS assume no liability for the theft, loss or damage of personal belongings or items. You can contact Mr. Elie Kmeid (03-508261) or Ms. Celine Waked (70-488438) at any time during the trip. 

On another note, SHS is also organizing snow shooing trip at Kfardebian from March 27 until March 29, 2019 for students who do not wish to ski. 

The cost of the snow shooing trip is $320 per person and includes full accommodation at the same hotel (2 nights in large rooms fitted with 3 students per room, 3 meals per day), two days snow shooing, equipment, instruction, activities, transportation and full insurance.

Students who sign up for the ski / snowboard / snow shooing trip will leave SHS in the afternoon on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Students will return to school around 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019. Parents are kindly asked to provide transportation for their son/daughter from SHS on Friday.

Furthermore, a one-day ski trip will be organized on Thursday, March 28, 2019.The cost of the one-day ski trip is $125 (full insurance and two meals included). Students will leave school at 7:30 a.m. and return to school at 4:30 p.m. Parents are kindly asked to provide transportation for their son/daughter from SHS on Thursday.

Please note that any student who misbehaves during the trip will be sent home and the money is nonrefundable. 

In case of bad weather on the above mentioned dates, all trips will be postponed.

Parents who wish to register their son/daughter are kindly asked to fill in the attached registration form, that corresponds to their choice of trip, and have their son/daughter submit it to Mrs. Marina Costantine (Block B receptionist) by Wednesday, March 20, 2019 with the required amount of money.

N.B. No reimbursement will be made unless the school decides to cancel the trip.

This is to inform you that the IBDP II Mock Exams will be held at school according to the following schedule.

Please take note of the following:

  1. Last day of classes will be Friday, March 22, 2019. 
  2. All internal assessment work must be handed in to the concerned teacher no later than Friday, March 22, 2019.
  3. Monday, March 25 until Thursday, March 28, 2019 are reading days.
  4. Students must arrive half an hour before the scheduled starting time of each exam.
  5. Students can go home when their last exam, on that particular, day is over.
  6. Correction of the mock exams will take place on April 11 and 12, 2019.
  7. The final report card will be issued as of April 17, 2019.

Dear Parents of grade 11 A.P. and IBDP I students, please be informed that:

- On Friday, March 15, 2019 the students will be visiting Notre Dame University – NDU,  Zouk Mosbeh from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The first period and last two periods of the day will be regular classes.  Buses will leave Sagesse High School from the main entrance parking at 8:45 a.m. and will return to school by 1:00 p.m.  

- On Wednesday, March 20, 2019 the students will be visiting La Sagesse University – LS, Abraj from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
The first period will be cancelled and periods 5, 6, 7 will be regular classes.  Buses will leave Sagesse High School from the main entrance parking at 8:00 a.m. and will return to school by 11:30 a.m.  

- On Tuesday, April 9, 2019 the students will be visiting The American University of Beirut - AUB from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
The first period will be cancelled and last two periods of the day will be regular classes.  Buses will leave Sagesse High School from the main entrance parking at 8:00 a.m. and will return to school by 1:00 p.m.  

Students must wear their school uniform: blue shirt, school jeans are permitted, and comfortable black shoes (for walking). 

Students wearing their sports uniform will be left behind at school.

Please sign the attached slip  and return it with your son/daughter to the floor supervisor by Thursday, March 14, 2019.  Attendance is mandatory.


CIRCULAR P.E DEPT. No 05/AY 18-19

March 6, 2019

Dear Parents of Secondary Students,

We are proud to announce that Sagesse High School Basketball team has reached the finals of the USEK Championship. The team will be playing against Champville on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Louaize Stadium in Zouk. 

We are counting on our students and teachers’ support to encourage the players and cheer for them to win the Championship. SHS will be providing transportation for students who are interested in watching the game. Students will leave school by bus at 10:00 a.m. sharp and will return to school around 1:30 p.m. 

Students will be accompanied by SHS faculty and staff members. Parents are kindly asked to provide transportation for their son/daughter to and from SHS on that day. 

Parents who wish to send their son/daughter are kindly asked to fill out the attached return slip and have their son/daughter submit it to the floor supervisor by tomorrow Thursday, March 7, 2019. 

Secondary students who are going to watch the game and support the SHS team are kindly asked to wear green shirts on that day.

Sagesse High School in collaboration with Sports Max is organizing a ski/snowboard/snow shooing trip to Kfardebian from Tuesday, March 5, 2019 until Thursday, March 7, 2019. 

Students will be staying at Hors Piste Hotel **** and will be accompanied by Mr. Elie Kmeid, Ms. Celine Waked, Mr. Nicholas Matta, (Sports Max Ski School), Dr. Georges Bachaalani (who will be called in case of medical emergencies) and SHS teachers or supervisors.  However, it is worth mentioning that the parents assume full responsibility for their son/ daughter and neither SHS nor Sports Max will be responsible for the unsafe or inappropriate conduct of the students throughout this trip. 

The cost of the ski trip is $400 per person and includes full accommodation (2 nights in large rooms fitted with 3 to 4 students per room, 3 meals per day), two days skiing, ski equipment, ski pass, instruction (one instructor for every three to five students), activities, transportation and full insurance.

In addition to the ski suit, your child will need the following items: helmet, snow shoes, gloves, hat, sun glasses/ski goggles, sun protection cream for face and lips, long socks, extra change of clothes, pajamas, underclothes, toothbrush & toothpaste, etc. Organizers and SHS assume no liability for the theft, loss or damage of personal belongings or items. On another note, SHS is also organizing a Snow Shooing trip to Kfardebian from March 5 until March, 7, 2019 for students who do not wish to ski. 

The cost of the snow shooing trip is $320 per person and includes full accommodation (2 nights in large rooms fitted with 3 students per room, 3 meals per day), two days’ snow shooing, equipment, instruction, activities, transportation and full insurance.

Students who sign up for the ski trip/snow shooing trip will leave SHS after school schedule on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Students will return to school around 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Parents are kindly /asked to provide transportation for their son/daughter from SHS on Thursday afternoon.

Furthermore, a one night and one-day ski/snow shooing trip will be organized on Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7, 2019.The cost of this trip $200. Students will leave SHS after school schedule on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Students will return to school on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. Parents are kindly asked to provide transportation for their son/daughter from SHS on Thursday afternoon.

Please note that any student who misbehaves during the trip will be sent home and the money paid will not be refunded. 

In case of bad weather on the above mentioned dates, the ski trip will be postponed.

Parents who wish to register their son/daughter are kindly asked to fill in the attached registration form, that corresponds to their choice of trip, and have their son/daughter submit it to the Mrs. Mireille Rouhana by Wednesday, February 27, 2019 with the required amount of money.

N.B. No reimbursement will be made unless the school decides to cancel the trip.

Stress Management Workshop for the IBDP I and IBDP II students on Friday, March 1, 2019. 

The workshop will be given by Mr. Oscar Eid from 7:45 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. Augustine Monastery, Ain Saadeh. The purpose of the workshop is to equip students with practical tools that allow them manage stress in an efficient way.  Students will leave SHS by bus at 7:45 a.m. and will be back at school around 12:10 p.m. It is worth mentioning that on that day regular classes will be held during periods 6, 7 and 8. 

The cost of the workshop is $40 per student, yet, the school will be paying $10 per student. Consequently, each student will only be charged $30. It is worth mentioning that the minimum number of participants to run the workshop is 10. If the workshop is cancelled the money will be reimbursed.

Dear Parents of IBDP I Students,

As an integration among Theory of Knowledge, CAS and Visual Arts, the IBDP I students will be visiting the Sursok Museum, Ashrafieh on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 10:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch at Chilies. It is worth mentioning that each student will pay for his/her lunch.

The purpose of the visit is to help students appreciate different types of Art and hence construct better arguments when answering knowledge questions or planning relevant CAS activities.

The SHS bus will leave at 9:30 a.m. and will bring back the students around 1:00 p.m. Students will be accompanied by Mrs. Nathalie Chalhoub and Mr. Khalil Bou Khalil.

Please note that all students should go on this trip and they must wear the SHS uniform.

In line with the objective of Sagesse High School of involving students in environmentally friendly experiences outside the classroom setting and in preparation for celebrating the International Mountain Day, the secondary division is planning to organize a hiking trip to Jabal Moussa UNESCO Biosphere Reserve from Monday, November 19 until Tuesday November 20, 2018, for the IBDPII, 12 A.P. and Secondary 3 LS/GS/SE classes.

Students will leave SHS by bus at 9:00 a.m. on Monday and will return to school on Tuesday around 6:00 p.m. Parents are kindly asked to provide transportation for their son/daughter to SHS on Monday morning and from SHS on Tuesday evening. 

The fee for the trip per person is $210. No reimburse¬ment will be made, unless the school decides to cancel the trip. The fee includes full accommodation at Terre Brune Hotel, Kfardebian (1 night in a twin room fitted with 2 beds or one double occupancy room with a king size bed) and meals. The school will cover the transportation fee.  

It is worth mentioning that the parents assume full responsibility for their son/daughter and SHS will not be responsible for the unsafe or inappropriate conduct of the students throughout this trip. 

Students are responsible for their electronic devices and the organizers and SHS assume no liability for the theft, loss or damage of personal belongings or items.

Kindly be informed that as of this circular the Secondary Division-IB & A.P. will no longer be issuing hard copies of the circulars. 

Instead, the soft copies of the circulars will be posted on the SHS website under the following tabs: Academics> Secondary A.P. & IB> Circulars or they may be accessed at the following link: http://sagessehs.edu.lb/academics/secondary-ap-ib/circulars. 

Parents will receive a push notification on their mobiles, via the SHS Mobile Application, notifying them that a circular has been posted for their reference. 

Consequently, parents are urged to download the SHS Mobile Application on their phones and are kindly requested to access the SHS website on a regular basis.

The school’s Mobile Application is available to install on Apple Store and Android Play Store. 

To download the application, search for “Sagesse High School”, download it and log in with your Skoolee username and password.

The application will allow you to receive Push Notifications of homework, assignments and circulars as well as updates on your son/daughter’s absence or tardiness and his/her medical file. 

Furthermore, the application will be used later on by the school to send notifications and will replace the SMS notification system.

- Friday, September 14, 2018 is a day off in celebration of the Holy Cross Day.

- IBDP I classes will be suspended from September 17 till 21, 2018 since 44% of the students are participating in the CAS trip to Spain-Portugal. Regular classes will resume on Monday, September 24. 2018 at 7:45 a.m. sharp and will extend until 3:30 p.m.
