Course Selection Sheet

Gr. 9 AP

Monday, May 27, 2019

Dear Parents,

SHS recognizes the diversity of our students’ language profile and, therefore, in the Intermediate Division, students had the opportunity to learn 2 out of 4 languages. However, for the Secondary Division, and because of the loaded program, students are asked to choose 1 out of 4 languages. Students can choose to learn a new language or to continue with one of the Languages they use to take.

Kindly take note that Languages at this stage are taught as cycles. This cyclic alignment ensures that students learn the language properly and efficiently.
Cycle 2 is a 3-year program that starts in Grade 10 A.P. and ends in Gr. 12 A.P. or IBDP 2.
One to three levels are available in each language. A minimum of 6 students is required to run a course. Students, who do not meet the requirements of any of the levels offered, should take private tutoring courses. It is worth mentioning that in such a case, the school might offer a course for those students with additional fees.

Kindly, select one of the languages listed below by checking the box and have your son/daughter return the slip to the floor supervisor on Friday, May 31, 2019.

Dear Parents,

Kindly be informed that as of this circular the Intermediate Division will no longer be issuing hard copies of the circulars.

Instead, the soft copies of the circulars will be posted on the SHS website under the following tabs: Academics> Intermediate Division> Circulars or they may be accessed at the following link: http://sagessehs.edu.lb/academics/intermediate-division/circulars.

Parents will receive a push notification on their mobiles, via the SHS Mobile Application, notifying them that a circular has been posted for their reference.

Consequently, parents are urged to download the SHS Mobile Application on their phones and are kindly requested to access the SHS website on a regular basis.

The school’s Mobile Application is available to install on Apple Store and Android Play Store.

To download the application, search for “Sagesse High School”, download it and log in with your Skoolee username and password.

The application will allow you to receive Push Notifications of homework, assignments and circulars as well as updates on your son/daughter’s absence or tardiness and his/her medical file.

Furthermore, the application will be used later on by the school to send notifications and will replace the SMS notification system.

Kindly contact the IT Department should you need any assistance to download the SHS Mobile Application.

It is worth mentioning, that the Head of Intermediate Division will consider that parents and students have been informed once the circulars have been posted on the SHS website.

Thank you,

Mireille Kopaly

October 3, 2018

Dear Parents and Students,

Students are expected to attend school regularly unless excused for illness, injury, serious emergency, or an office approved absence. Parents are expected to call the assistant’s office (01/872145 ext.152) by 8:00 a.m. to notify the school that their child or children will not be in school or will arrive late on that particular day.

Every absence has to be justified with the appropriate documentation to be kept in the student’s file. On the morning following the absence, the student is required to bring a note signed by his parent explaining the reason for the absence. The student must check in at the head of division’s (HD’s) assistant office to hand in the note.

In case the absence is justified,  students who miss any test or quiz have to sit for a make-up test/quiz in the afternoon (The weekday will be assigned in due time.).

In case the absence is not justified, students will receive a zero on the quiz/test they have missed.

Thank you,

Mireille Kopaly
Head of Intermediate Division
