CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

At SHS, we believe that it takes a community to raise a school. The answer to real educational transformation is authentic community connections and partnerships; therefore, parental collaboration and students voice help in the successful implementation of our programs.

We believe that our international identity provides our community: faculty & staff, parents, and students, with a unique mindset that brings increasing benefits. Nonetheless, by incorporating the national as well as the international curricula, we acknowledge that this identity is cultivated through the delivery of three different programs in a setting that embraces members from diverse cultural, ethnic, religious, and national backgrounds; thus, endorsing the spirit of international-mindedness school wide.

The programs offered at SHS are:

  1. The Lebanese National Curriculum provided by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
  2. The American High School Program (AP) accredited by the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS).
  3. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization.

The primary language of instruction at Sagesse High School is English; however, SHS students learn Arabic, English, and French from Nursery and are offered Spanish / Italian in the Intermediate and Secondary Divisions.

SHS has a Special Education Department (SED) for learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

SHS provides a number of curricular and extra-curricular programs: Protect Ed, assemblies, the Model United Nations (MUN), Scouts, Active Citizen Project (ACP), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), and a Student Council and Student Organization that represent the student body and give students an active voice in the community. The school is constantly participating in other positive avenues for student involvement, including fundraising, clubs, national and international conferences and competitions.

SHS is proud to have a multicultural community of diverse backgrounds from all around the world.
