Sagesse High School is a Catholic, Anglophone, co-educational school that educates and motivates students from diverse backgrounds to become life-long learners and responsible citizens with strong ethical values. Throughout these two days, the preschoolers came to school dressed in green, and they brought in balloons and popcorn. They learned two new lessons: ALWAYS TRY SOMETHING NEW and BE HAPPY!

A Stress Management and Music Therapy session was conducted by Mr Oscar Eid and Mrs Lina Riachy Haddad for the Lower Elementary teachers on Friday the 16th of February.
The session was so successful, and the teachers expressed their desire to repeat it more often.

It is a festive season at SHS. In celebration of Christmas 2017, the Parents’ Association organized a parade for the Lower and Upper Elementary divisions. The pictures below speak a thousand words!
The Intermediate Inter-Class Futsal Tournament was organized by the Students Organization' Sports Committee on October & November 2017.
Football players from 14 classes (G7, G8 & G9) took part in this yearly event.
The competition was based on Futsal rules and regulations under the supervision of Coach Omar Mechleb and the Head of Sports Committee, John Boustany (Sec2Sc).
The final game was held between G8 (2nd place) & G9 (1st place).
The students showed their high skills and talents throughout the entire game which pleased the spectators.
It’s the season to be happy! The Preschoolers engaged in various Christmas games and they all cheered for each other.

SHS Secondary 2SE students provided the school's first graders an unforgettable learning experience at Cedar's Dental Center. Dr. Michel Bou Chaaya and Dr. Carla Moukarzel raised students' awareness towards dental care and hygiene. The visit was culminated when Santa showed up and offered them toothbrushes and toothpaste so they would take good care of their dental hygiene.

As part of the “Active Citizen Project” for this academic year, Grade7 A.P. & L.P. students served lunch at "Resto Du Cœur", a foundation in Sin El Fil.
As part of the “Active Citizen Project” for this academic year, Grade 8 students had the opportunity to work with “Message de Paix”, a foundation that aims to support children with special needs. They visited the “Message de Paix” workshops that are located in Bekfaya.

As part of the Active Citizen Project for the Academic Year 2017-2018, Grade 6 students participated in the Red Cross Awareness Campaign. The session covered Cardio Respiratory Disease and Glycemia.
On the 7th of December, 2017, officers from the Lebanese Mine Action Center held a presentation at Sagesse High School to raise awareness about the danger of mines on various Lebanese terrains.
On the 25th and 26th of November, 2017, 44 SHSMUN delegates took part in the 7th annual HHHSMUN Conference in Saida.

The chemistry Department hosted Dr. George Karam, endocrinologist, internist, nutritionist and lecturer at the Lebanese University, who gave a presentation to Sec 3 and Sec 2 students about healthy eating habits.
Under our yearly theme “Time to Value Time”, our art Intermediate students in collaboration with the art department decorated the boards in their classes.
In line with Sagesse High School’s mission statement and the objectives of the IBDP CAS program, the secondary division organized an eye-opening trip to Italy from November 6th to November 13th, 2017.
Independence Day Celebration at the Lower and Upper Elementary Divisions.
In celebration of Independence Day and the collaboration of Social Studies Department, Grade 9 students visited Jbeil city. They toured in the old souks, visited the historic churches, and walked on the beach. Students enjoyed the beautiful weather and the wonderful sceneries.

SHSMUN Taking Part in the 2017 LEMUN Conference in The Netherlands from November 14 to November 21, 2017.
Associate Professor of Government & International Relations at Notre Dame University, Dr. Elie Al Hindi gave a presentation about the meaning of Independence, Freedom, Rights, Duties and Citizenship to Secondary 2 and 11 A.P. students. The event was prepared by Mr. Dany Kfoury and Mrs. Petra Al Hindi, and it included students’ speeches related to the topic.
You are kindly invited to participate in a stress management and music therapy session at Sagesse High School on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 10:30 am until 12:20 pm.
Mr. Oscar Eid and Dr. Lina Riachy will conduct the session. You will acquire practical tools to deal with daily stress. A detailed email will be sent to participants.

To ensure the proper care for your child /children while at school please abide by the following:
- Parents of newly enrolled students are requested to complete the student medical form and must submit it to the nurse in the division. The medical form is posted on the SHS website and may be printed for completion.
- All parents who did not submit the completed student medical form for their child/children during the 2016-2017 academic year are required to do so this year. The medical form is posted on the SHS website and may be printed for completion.
- All parents who submitted the completed student medical form for their child/children during the 2016-2017 academic year are kindly asked to submit any health updates related to their child/children to the concerned nurses in the divisions.
- All requested forms or information must be submitted to the nurses by November 9, 2017.
Dear Parents/Legal Guardians,
Parents who find it necessary to request private tutoring sessions for their son / daughter with Sagesse High School faculty or staff members are kindly requested to fill in a "Private Tutoring Request Form" at the head of division’s assistant’s office. Based on this form, the suitable teacher for the requested tutoring will be assigned by the head of department and/or the head of division. The head of division will then inform the parents and will give them the teacher's phone number to continue with the procedure.

We would like to inform you that Archbishop Paul Matar will preside at the opening of the Academic Year Mass celebration on Friday October 27, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. George’s Cathedral in downtown Beirut.
Students are required to wear the Official School Uniform (Blazer, grey pair of trousers for boys, grey skirt for girls, blue shirt, navy sweater, tie, and black shoes).
Sagesse High school would like to congratulate Sister Mary Delourdes on her retirement. We have valued her as a colleague and her hard work and diligence have greatly benefited our school.

With the purpose of improving cooperation and cohesion between Lebanese in the countries of expatriation and Lebanese residing in Lebanon, “Mary Mother of Wisdom – Sagesse Foundation” has been established in the United States of America to collect aid for Sagesse schools in Lebanon. This will contribute in enabling students with financial or educational difficulties to complete their education. The Foundation will also contribute in transferring the latest technological teaching tools from the US to Lebanon and exchanging knowledge, expertise and culture between students in both countries.

- The school, in its implementation of the Child Protection Policy, requires that students from grade 4 to grade 12 be well-informed of their rights and their parents’ / guardians’ decision not to have their photographs taken. To that end, students whose parents/guardians have not given consent for their child’s photograph to be taken or used, need to inform staff members.
جدّد مدير مدرسة الحكمة هاي سكول الأب غابي تابت مطالبته الدولة بإعتماد البطاقة التعليميّة التي، عبرها، تساهم في تغطية جزء من الأقساط المدرسيّة، للتخفيف عن كاهل المواطن الذي يدفع الضرائب كاملة لها. وفي الوقت الذي شدّد فيه على أنّ الأهل والاساتذة والمدرسة يعملون لهدف واحد، متمثل بتربية الطلاب وتعليمهم، استهجن توجيه السهام على المدارس الخاصّة، وتحويل المدارس الكاثوليكيّة الى كبش محرقة في كلّ مرة يُحكى فيها عن زيادة الأقساط المدرسيّة.
أكدت إدارة مدرسة الحكمة "هاي سكول" في بيان تعليقًا على الاعتصام الشعبي السلمي لأهالي عين سعادة والمنصورية، وتوضيحًا لموقفها، "أن المدرسة بعيدة عن تأثيرات خطوط التوتر العالي، وبالتالي لا تعتبر أن الأمر يشكل أي نوع من الخطر على تلامذتها والعاملين فيها".
ولفتت أن "المدرسة قد شاركت فياعتصامات سابقة بدافع التضامن مع أهالي المنطقة"، متمنية أن "تنتهي هذه المسألة بالشكل الذي يضمن المصلحة العامة".

As part of Sagesse High school’s ongoing improvement plan, the Quality Improvement Department (QI) looks forward to receive your suggestions and/ or complaints.
